The Court of Auditors has sounded the alarm: estimates that more than one million vehicles circulating in Spain without being insured, according to the gap that exists between the data of the Consorcio de Compensacion de Seguros and DGT. This Court has claimed to the Government that it take the necessary measures to facilitate the control and the fulfilment of this obligation. The President of the Court of Auditors, Manuel Nunez, has presented the report of monitoring of general activity that took the Consorcio de Compensacion de Seguros in 2006 at the Congress. Nunez has explained that there is a significant difference between the number of insured cars handled by this agency and registrations file that manages l0 General traffic. Thus, Nunez has claimed the Government the adoption of appropriate measures to facilitate the control and enforcement of restriction of make motor vehicles. However, the Court insists that they are indispensable provisions that reduce this difference. Furthermore, this would result in a decrease of allowances that should pay the Consortium in accidents caused by cars without securing. Insurance for car companies must be concerned with these figures.
