Work with Toyo Ito in Tokyo led to the appointment of Alfredo Munoz as Manager of Toyo Ito in Spain at the age of 23 years. Alfredo then moved to Barcelona for this purpose and to locally manage the expansion of the Barcelona fair, a large-scale project (300,000 m2) of mixed-use in Barcelona. During this period in Barcelona, Alfredo followed by combining an intense professional activity with the academic, developing her PhD at the Universidad Politecnica de Cataluna on the combination of creative processes in Asia, Europe and America, establishing new forms of architectural creation processes. His architectural vision and the result of these researches allowed Alfredo collaborations in prestigious international architecture schools, such as Columbia University in New York, UPenn in Philadelphia, Pescara Italy, Royal University Institute University in Stockholm, Tongji University in Shanghai, European University in Madrid and Catalonia Polytechnic University, giving lectures and seminars. After this experience in Toyo Ito Espana, Alfredo Munoz accepted the offer of the macro-estudio of international architecture Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM) to join his Senior team, in New York, giving this at the beginning of the Executive MBA of the University of Chicago where he had been admitted as the youngest of the program to date, counting the prestigious University with more than 100 years of history. For 4 and a half years of dedication to SOM, Alfredo Munoz worked as technical coordinator and Project Manager on large projects in USA, Kuwait and India, as it is the case of the Alhamra Tower or the USA Army National Museum, to name a few. The last two years of his stay in SOM, already as a partner, Alfredo was responsible for the operations of the Office in India. Following this period he left the study in order to develop their own projects.
Then some other experiences, Alfredo Munoz founded the international Studio ABIBOO Architecture (www.abiboo.com) with headquarters in Spain, USA and India, and projects in Spain, Norway, Sweden, Peru, USA, Taiwan, Viet Nam and India. These projects range from single-family homes of design for celebrities, to large developments undertaken. Moreover, Alfredo Munoz plays the work of Adviser on the Board of Directors of MIDAS. MARG Institute of Design & Architecture Swarnabhoomi for the creation of a prestigious International University located in Chennai, India. He is also Adviser on the Board of Directors of two companies in the real estate sector, one in Spain and another in USA. Alfredo Munoz continues today, touring the world managing ABIBOO Architecture architectural projects, increasing their anthropological knowledge and applying, along with his team, everything learned in the work that develops.
